Virtual Power Lab
The Virtual Power Lab (DEI) is a web-based laboratory designed to help students to understand the principles, operation, protection, and performance analysis of electrical power system protection through interactive simulations. The laboratory covers important topics such as synchronization of generators, determination of synchronous machine d and q- axis reactances, positive, negative and zero sequence reactances, transient,sub-transient and steady state reactances, measurement of dielectric strength of oil and air, Effect of shapes on dielectric strength, transformer differential protection, induction motor numerical protection, and transmission line regulation and Ferranti effect. These simulations enable learners to visualize system behavior, analyze electrical parameters, and study power system operations in a safe, cost-effective, and interactive virtual environment.
