Study of the Ferranti Effect in a Transmission Line or Cable
Procedure
- Select initial length of line (say 30 kms).
- Start the motor-generator set.
- Note down the sending end voltage Vi, sending end current Ii and receiving end voltage Vo.
- Disconnect the supply of motor-generator set.
- Increase the length of line.
- Repeat the steps 2-5.
